First trimester

 

The first trimester goes from week 1 to week 12. In this calendar, you’ll find information starting from week 5, when the first symptoms usually appear and you may discover you’re pregnant.

This stage marks the beginning of pregnancy, with important physical changes and the start of your baby’s development—from a group of cells to an embryo and later a fetus.

Second trimester

 

The second trimester goes from week 13 to week 26. By this stage, early symptoms usually ease, allowing you to enjoy your pregnancy more. Your baby will grow quickly, and you may even hear their heartbeat.

Facial features are already forming, and you might find out your baby’s sex. You may also experience increased appetite—this is normal, just remember to enjoy cravings in moderation.

Third trimester

 

The third trimester goes from week 27 to week 40. You’re in the final stage of pregnancy, getting ready to meet your baby. Some babies are born from week 37, or earlier in the case of preterm birth.

During this stage, you may feel more tired as your baby grows quickly and moves more, with less space in your belly. As the weeks go by, your baby will likely turn head-down, preparing for birth.
